Patients who are traveling longer distances must also consider travel arrangements for medication, which may be time or temperature-sensitive.
Special packaging or refrigeration may be needed during long-distance flights. Here’s what you need for your visit to the Southern California Food Allergy Institute:
While in TIP™ treatment we will provide a letter for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) upon request for home food, dosing, SLIT & medications listed on your child’s treatment plan.
As safety is our number one priority, please plan your trip accordingly to allow given enough time for your commute. Take into account the time difference between Long Beach, CA and your location.
COVID-19 Travel Update: For those of you coming to appointments at SoCal Food Allergy from out of state, we are looking forward to seeing you in Long Beach. Before you get going be sure to check travel guidelines from the state and local health departments where you live, as well as guidelines from the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). If you are flying also check your airline website for their policies and procedures.
If you are an out-of-state family, we offer you a BioFire PCR COVID-19 test during your visit so you can avoid quarantining upon return. Results are typically available in 6-24 hours and will be accessible electronically. The test is offered at a reduced cost of $50 per person.
