What drew you to work at SoCal Food Allergy?
The medicine is fascinating, the work environment is cutting edge, and the chemistry among the entire team is warm and supportive. More exciting than anything, however, was the opportunity to permanently change the lives of patients in a way I never knew was possible. SoCal Food Allergy is practicing a form of medicine that is 20 years ahead of its time and will eventually be the gold standard of food allergy treatment across the world. I am so proud to be one of the pioneers in this field!
What is your most memorable SoCal Food Allergy moment?
It has been hugely rewarding to see so many patients finally eating foods that they couldn’t even touch, let alone taste. I especially remember watching a teenager consume an entire egg for the first time. He had previously been hospitalized four times for severe allergic reactions. Not only did he eat it without any repercussions, but he also loved the taste! Convinced that he would have to avoid this common food for his entire life, his joy at finally being able to eat it without fear was priceless. I’ll never forget it.
